    STUDENT CAN OPT FOR ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION OR OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION

    On-Campus Accommodation provides single room and twin-sharing room, common bathroom, cafeteria, laundry room, sport facility, study room, pantry and groceries store. Rental for on-campus accommodation range from RM150 – RM330 per month (without meals).

    Off-Campus Accommodation is the rental of private accommodation within walking distance and also available within 3km in radius. Most of the condominium/apartments are equipped with 3 bedrooms, air-conditioned, groceries store, gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis/badminton court and laundry shop.

  • USMCare Scholarship

    GENERAL INFORMATION
    1. Open to Malaysian Students and International Students from LOW OR LOWER-MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES.

    2. Only open to registered FULL-TIME RESEARCH MODE PhD postgraduate students.
    3. Application must be made in first semester of the study OR at least in the second semester. Eligible for students who have registered in Semester I 2025/2026 (October 2025) and Semester ll 2025/2026 (March 2026)
    4. The scheme has a maximum duration of 36 months and must be renewed every semester within this period. Renewal is based on the progress of the research study.

    APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
    1. Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA>3.00/4.00 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government
    2. Master’s Degree by coursework/mixed mode with CGPA>3.50/4.00 or Master’s Degree by research mode or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government.
    3. At least has one manuscript published in a journal indexed by WoS/SCOPUS.

    ⚠️ Only tuition fee will be covered – No Allowance Provided.
    (Not inclusive 6% Sales and Service Tax (SST) imposed by government of Malaysia (International only)

  • Graduate Horizon Scholarship

    1. The Graduate Horizon Scholarship (GHS) is a research attachment programme designed to support postgraduate students in undertaking research activities at a collaborating institution. The programme facilitates access to specialised facilities, resources, and expertise that complement and strengthen the students' current research studies.

    3. Term and Conditions:
      • The applicant must be a registered full-time active research-mode student (Master's or PhD) at USM.
      • The collaborator's institution must be an institution ranked within the Top 100 of the QS World University Rankings or an industry partner a multinational corporation (MNC) abroad.
      • The research attachment must be conducted at an institution that has an active MOU/MOA with USM.
      • The duration of this financial support is ONE (1) to THREE (3) month(s).
      • The applicant must have an official invitation letter (the student name) from the intended institution where the attachment will be commenced.
      • Upon completion of the attachment, the student is required to provide the publication(s) in an indexed journal, which is co-authored by the host researcher(s) within one year as proof of the output for the attachment.
      • The maximum funding provided under this financial support is RM 5,000.00.
